I'm not sure
what this
is, but it was suggested on the Duckworks forum
by JJ Dobrikin. Be sure to look at the Flyer.
It's in German but has good pictures.

I
came across the US Coast Guard's downloadable
audio files of VHF mayday and pan-pan calls
and put the clips into iMovie/QuickTime and
created transcripts of each call using subtitles
(a lot of work!). One of the calls is truly
frightening. Another was used as evidence
in a felony indictment (false distress call)
that lead to jailtime. These recordings strike
me as instructive.

I
probably got this site
from Duckworks, but on the off chance I didn't,
here's a guy building a Walkabout,
just launched as a matter of fact...

...Also,
while browing you Duckworks website update today,
I saw the link for carbon fiber sleeving. Here's
a source I've used; I think the variety
is greater and the pricing a little better.

Robert
Wagenvoort seems to have made short work
popping his Piccup
Pram up onto the top of the car. I expect
what it will do is not make life easier for
most, but rather encourage the development of
even heavier "cartoppers"...

... also this
Moth-eaten website
for inclusion consideration in the webwatch...

... and one
more for the webwatch? This
from Holland, includes build pix of Ian Outred
boat.

When I was in
the navy we had a time or three with some typhoons
and other rough seas, but look at this video
at about the 1:00 minute mark - I never saw
the passageways move around like that!

Hey everybody
-- I had a great time at Magnolia Beach!
Here are the pictures
from this year...
|

Also the initial
page
for next year is up -- there may be some changes
along the way, but this is the basic idea of
what we plan to do:

This Joansa
builder's site
is very thorough, an excellent build IMHO. When
he makes mistakes he tells you about them, etc.

... Also this
on the value of old boats as static museum pieces...

... and I have
to say that Ben Crawshaw's Invisible
Workshop weblog is worth a smile at almost
any time.

John and Louis
have logged almost two thousand miles on the
River so far. They have posted several
videos of their trip down the river so far
along with a map of the Mississippi River showing
their progress:
