Starvation Report

by Tom Gale

Hello Chuck,
This is a quick report on Utah's first sailing meet of the season, held at Starvation Res. near Duchesne Utah. on May 20-22. We had 36 people in attendance, and 15 boats in total. Great weather, lots of wind. The event is organized by Jim Thayer of Grand Mesa Boatworks every spring. 6 of the 15 boat hulls present were made by Jim over the years. We had attendees from as far away as Golden Co, to Idaho falls, Salt Lake City, and Logan Ut.

Every year brings a wide variety of boats and owners together to exchange ideas on designs, construction techniques, rowing and sailing adventures, future projects, as well as food and wine libations. My main exuse to submit this info, is to share some of the great photos I took of the event and hopfully inspire others to get out and go sailing....And perhaps join us next year.

I'll try to lump groups of photos that go together and give some info about them.
