Don't squeeze too hard with clamps when epoxy gluing stuff together. Epoxy gluing is different than wood gluing, there needs to remain some epoxy IN the joint, where with wood glue, the tighter the 2 pieces can be squeezed the stronger the joint. Along those lines, epoxy for gluing should always have thickeners added, and again, I like fumed silica, although if the joint will be visible and 'bright finished' I will use some carefully prepared super fine sanding dust.
