Canal Boat
Chuck:
This is an aluminium hull canal boat I have
constructed in Buffalo New York
I have lots of info on this project.
As a product designer this boat is a product
of many constraints water depth bridge clearance.
As an archtecture student this was part
of my thesis project (floating
housing).
The motor is a combination of a Chinese
Import Lower Unit and Four Sroke Air cooled in place of
what should be a diesel (more avaliable).
The design is based on starting with sheets
of 5052 aluminuim break-formed at a local sheet metal
shop ($900.00). This greatly simplifies fabrication.
Welding equipment can be purchased at Home
Depot
