Dugout Canoe

Here is an update photo of the dugout canoe project. It is being built by prehistoric methods using stone and shell tools and fire. The log is southern pine, most of the prehistoric canoes found in Florida are pine. The project is being overseen by Gary Ellis of Gulf Archeology Research Institute in Crystal River Florida.
